STUDENT ASSISTANSHIP PROGRAM
The University is committed to providing support to students from financially challenged backgrounds, enabling them to cope with school fees and gain practical work experience. The Student Assistantship Program is established to not only assist students in managing their educational expenses but also to help them acquire valuable practical skills for future employment.
The compensation for student assistants will be provided in the form of tuition fee credit. Student Assistants will receive tuition fee credit equivalent to the hours worked at an hourly rate based on the prevailing minimum wage. (For 2024, the rate will be set at Php 49.37 per hour, in accordance with the minimum wage rate of Php 395.) Any remaining excess amount shall be disbursed to the students upon completion of their contract.
The basis for the processing of compensation shall be the daily time record (DTR) and accomplishment report (AR) which must be approved by the department/office head before submission to the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) Compensation and Benefits Section on or before the payroll cutoff.
Eligibility
- Must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Must be an incoming second, third, fourth, or fifth-year college students.
- Must have completed at least one semester of study at the university and currently enrolled in the tertiary.
- Must not have received a failing grade in the previous semester.
- Must be enrolled in the curriculum-prescribed number of units for the current semester.
- Must not have been subject to disciplinary action and must demonstrate good moral character.
- Preferably not a grantee of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), CHED and other government-sponsored scholarships, and USANT non-academic and special scholarships, except USANT academic scholarship.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following documents to be considered for the Student Assistantship Program:
- Application letter addressed to the Office of Student Affairs (OSA)
- Updated resume or Student Assistant Information Sheet (OSA Form).
- Accomplished Parent Consent and Undertaking Form for Student Assistantship.
- Student Assistantship Contract.
- A copy of the registration form with the class schedule.
- Copy of previous semester’s grade.
